Seeking a change of scenery, he moved to Pennsylvania where he achieved his Bachelors degree in molecular biology at The University of Pittsburgh and his Doctorate of Medicine in Dentistry at Temple University in Philadelphia. His interest in dentistry started by playing high school football because his coach was a dentist. Andrew Hatashima was born and raised in Hawaii on the island of Oahu.
